HAPPY WITHIN

Online group sessions -1hr

A joyful blend of Breathing Techniques, Relaxation, and Intuitive Dance.

If our lives are very real and not always easy, together we can learn to take on an attitude which, rather than bringing us down even further, lifts us up and helps us move forward.

Anyone can take part in those sessions !

No need to be a dancer, or to have a sense of rhythm to practice Intuitive Dance.

As for Breathing  and Relaxation, the techniques we use are also accessible to all, regardless of age, size, skin colour, gender, religious background, social background etc.

The sessions happen online via ZOOM and are available in English and in French (See timetable.)

For those who are not familiar with ZOOM, know that it is easy and free to download.

To join us, all you need is a good internet connection and a decent camera on your phone / tablet / computer. I am aware that some people do not enjoy showing themselves on camera, but for the purpose of the Happy Within sessions, it is important that we all get to see each other. The environment is super friendly, and everyone is welcome.

Only put on a tie or wear make up if it makes you feel happy, otherwise simply come as you are! I cannot stress enough how important it is to me that EVERYONE feel safe and accepted in those sessions. Wear comfortable loose-fitting clothing if possible, to ensure easy breathing and free movement.

WHEN?

Your questions, answered...

What is Intuitive Dance?

Our daily lives have the potential to create huge tension within our bodies. Stress, worry, anger etc all cause muscles to tense up. This tension can build up so much that it turns into chronic physical pain.

Our bodies are made stiff by negative feelings we harbour, and sometimes we are unable to transmute those feelings and emotions with our minds alone. Yes, we want to “rise above it all”. “I’m better than that”, we tell ourselves. Some of us decide to give meditation a go, because we hear it's good for us... And here we are, sitting cross-legged, with a sore back and pins and needles in our feet.

Yes, we wish so much for a clear mind… But sometimes, all we end up with, is a head filled with more than we can chew. Frustration kicks in.

Seated meditation is not everyone’s cup of tea.

This is where Intuitive Dance comes in. You have a body. You can move it (even if it’s only parts of it). Appreciate it.

Although music is often used, Intuitive Dance is not about following a specific rhythm, it is about you creating your own rhythm. It is about random moves, whatever comes naturally to you at this specific time.

Intuitive dance turns steel into water as you allow your body to flow and to feel free.

For those who feel stuck at first, I always provide suggestions. But I’m only a guide. Eventually you will become attuned to your inner flow.

There is no right or wrong in Intuitive Dance. And most importantly, we don’t care about how it looks. We’re free!

Beware! Intuitive Dance is an extremely powerful tool. When I first tried it, about 15 years ago, I ended up releasing so much emotional tension that I suddenly bawled my eyes out. It felt SO GOOD.

Now, I’m not saying we all end up crying when we practice Intuitive Dance, but hey, maybe some stuff will want to come out. It’s up to us to allow it to do so. There’ll be no judgement 😊
